Serenity Now Data Usage Policy

Last updated:8/30/25

Purpose

This policy explains how Serenity Now (the divorce mediation assistant) handles data shared during use.

What Data We Collect

  • Conversation text: Information you share in chats with Serenity Now.

  • Session details: General session activity (like when a mediation started and ended).

  • No identifiers required: You do not need to provide full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive personal identifiers.

How Data Is Used

  • Facilitation only: Data is used to guide mediation sessions, suggest discussion frameworks, and draft Memoranda of Understanding (MOU).

  • Improvement: Aggregated, non-identifiable patterns may be reviewed to improve the service.

  • No sale of data: Your data will never be sold to third parties.

Data Sharing

  • Within mediation only: Data stays within the mediation session unless you choose to export it (e.g., download a draft MOU).

  • No third-party marketing: Information is never shared with advertisers.

Data Retention

  • User choice: You may request deletion of your session records at any time.

  • Default retention: Session data is retained only as long as needed to support mediation progress.

Security

  • Data is stored using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.

  • However, Serenity Now cannot guarantee absolute security, so you should avoid entering highly sensitive information that is not needed for mediation.

Your Rights

  • Access: You can request a copy of your session history.

  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your session data.

  • Correction: You may clarify or update your inputs at any time during mediation.
